Harrison County Arts presents our January 2025 member exhibition, I’m Somebody, titled after the speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. to Glenville High School students on April 26, 1967.
I’m Somebody the exhibition will display work by our artist members that are inspired by or relate to MLK Jr’s profound words.
Our exhibition is in partnership with the Martin Luther King Jr planning committee who have thoughtfully invited our young creator’s from Harrison Counties Middle & High Schools to participate in creating work inspired by MLK’s I’m Somebody speech.
"If it falls your lot to be a
streets weeper, sweep streets like
Michelangelo painted pictures.
Sweep streets like Shakespeare
wrote poetry.
Sweep streets like Beethoven
composed music.
Sweep streets so well that all the
hosts of heaven and earth will
have to pause and say here lived a
great streets weeper who swept
his job well."
