Linda Shoults Resource Center
This space is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Linda, an artist, leader, and creative spirit whose life’s journey brought her home to Corydon, Indiana.
After years spent in Kansas—where she met her beloved partner, James Hays—Linda returned with him in retirement to Hayswood Farm, the place of his childhood. Together, they shared a passion for harness racing, owning and racing Standardbred pacers throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
Linda’s artistic voice echoed across the country through her Prairie Godmother Studio, first in Kansas and later here in Corydon. Her oil paintings—evocative landscapes, wildlife, horses, and sweeping visions of the Grand Canyon—are held in public and private collections nationwide.
A devoted advocate for the arts, Linda served as President of Harrison County Arts for many years and was a dedicated exhibitor at The Artisan Center and galleries throughout Indiana. She played a vital role in securing the historic Griffin building as the home for Harrison County Arts—a lasting gift to the community she so deeply enriched.
Let this space honor her vision, her leadership, and the enduring beauty she brought into the world.
