Responsibilities & Expectations
Founded as a non-profit organization in 2005, Harrison County Arts mission is to connect creativity and community through the power of art.

Harrison County Arts is committed to creating and expanding opportunities for the arts in Harrison County and Southern Indiana. Harrison County Arts internships are part-time (7-12 hours/week) and unpaid, but can qualify for school credit depending on the candidate’s department policies.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, and has a passion for art and the Harrison County community.

Join us.


Are you an artist over 18 living in Harrison, Floyd, or surrounding counties? Join Harrison County Arts and share your work with a vibrant, supportive arts community! We welcome emerging, professional, craft, and amateur artists who are passionate about creating.

To apply, submit three original works and a resume highlighting your experience in the visual arts. A four-person committee will review your submission and provide thoughtful feedback. If not accepted, you're welcome to reapply in six months. Help us showcase the very best art our region has to offer—your creative voice belongs here!

Member Exclusives:


We host Member Only Exhibitions that expand your CV and experience.

You vote on member’s choice yearly exhibition.

Access to submit a proposal for a solo or group show with priority for available show slots.

Free Application Submission to Bud Shoults Grant Workshop Grant, $1,000 given to a member to attend an educational workshop.

A physical location to sell your work without the accounting hassle. Just bring in your inventory, we do the rest, you get paid.

Artwork promoted in our marketing newsletter (sent to a growing list of subscribers).

How to Join:


  1. Review our Artist Member Contract before applying. If you are accepted to be a member this is the contract you will sign to process membership.

    The requirement highlights:

    We operate similarly to a co-op, yearly membership dues ($145/year=$12.08/month) and volunteering on a committee or as a gallery cashier is required.

    The gallery retains 30% of your sales.

    You attend 6 out of 12 artist meetings a year. The meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at 6pm.



  2. Apply to become an artist member

    We ask for 3 images of your work, a short biography and artist statement.

    Our jury committee reviews applications and reserves the right to reject applicants.
