Reception, Declaration, Reflections of 250 years of The United States Exhibition

  • Harrison County Arts 113 E Beaver St Corydon United States (map)

Kick off our opening night with a sweet treat! Guests will enjoy refreshing handmade popsicles from Oh My Lollies, along with light refreshments as we gather to celebrate together. This event marks the United States 250th anniversary—the Semiquincentennial—commemorating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

In 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary, marking 250 years since the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.

This exhibition invites Harrison County Artist Members to reflect on what America at 250 means—through personal, local, and national perspectives. Artists are encouraged to explore a range of themes, including American landscapes and landmarks, reinterpretations of founding documents like the United States Constitution, and reimagined histories that highlight both well-known and overlooked contributors.

Work may engage with evolving ideas of identity, inclusion, and citizenship; revisit familiar symbols such as the Uncle Sam or the Statue of Liberty; or reflect on everyday American life through a “homegrown” lens.

Together, these works create a collective portrait of America at 250—celebrating, examining, questioning, and telling or reimagining its story. The pieces represent the perspectives of our artist members and do not necessarily reflect the views or beliefs of the gallery. Our role is to provide a space for creative expression and dialogue.
